Howard Ballou Evening Anchor for Jackson TV station WLBT spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at the Club's August 23 meeting. His major point of discussion was the Gray Media Training Center being constructed on the WLBT complex in Jackson. The new center, which will cost an estimated $1 million, will focus on bringing more diversity and inclusion to the broadcast industry by focusing on students from historically Black colleges and universities. Ten students from HBCU
in the state of Mississippi have already been chosen for the program and will begin training in the fall of 2022 even though the new center is not expected to be completed until the spring of 2023. We thank Ballou for speaking to our club. He (2nd from right) is shown with (from the left) Club Treasurer Neelam Goel, Past President Uriel Pineda, and President Larry Anderson.
