Prayer
With the ancient Psalmist, O God, we echo the praises given throughout the centuries by all who have recognized your greatness. As Rotarians we recognize and readily acknowledge that our chief purpose of service others has divine origin, a mandate to all men and women of faith. We tender our thanks for the gifts of food and fellowship which we enjoy, and for the mutual support we experience. Let our table conversations be uplifting, our concern for others genuine, and the time spent together productive and rewarding. Amen.

October 21, 2025, Meeting
Kent Buckley, a polio survivor, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson during its October 21, 2025, meeting. Buckley, the son-in-law of Club Past President Rob Whitley, informed club members about growing up with polio. He was 4 1/2 and his baby sister was 10 months old when they got polio in 1958. They got polio by receiving the vaccine from an unshaken vial which gave them a concentrated dose of the vaccine. It was unheard of for the virus to be received that way. They both had to wear corrective shoes with braces. Today, Buckley stills has left leg issues that was affected by Polio. Shown from left to right in photo below is, Past Club President Rob Whitley, Buckley, and Club President Neelam Goel. Here is the link to the meeting video.
