NO MEETING TOMORROW
5th Tuesday Day of Service
Our club's 5th Tuesday Day of Service will be tomorrow September 30th at the Mississippi Food Network. We will NOT have a club meeting. The service project will be from noon until 1p.m. We will be packing food boxes for those in need. Wear comfortable cloths since we will be in a warehouse. The MFN is located at 440 W. Beatty Street Jackson MS 39201.
Readers Needed
Readers are needed to read to the pre-k students at Walton Elementary School. The reading takes place on Friday's @ 11:30a.m. Reading only takes about 15 minutes or so. You can bring your own book or books or use one of theirs. Here are the dates that need readers: Oct. 3rd (1), Oct. 17th (1), Oct. 24th (2), Nov. 7th (1), Nov. 14th (1), Nov. 21st (1). Paul Harris Fellow Recognition
Two members of the Rotary Club of North Jackson were recognized at Paul Harris Fellows during our September 23rd meeting. Club President Neelam Goel was recognized as a 3 times PHF and a Paul Harris Society member. Club member Joe Dove was recognized as 7 times PHF. A person becomes a PHF after contributing $1,000 to the foundation. A PHS member contributes $1,000 per year to the foundation.
September 23rd Meeting
The Rotary Club of North Jackson honored six Precinct 2 Jackson Police Department Officers during its September 23, 2025, meeting. They were honored after they apprehended an armed man who was threatening to shoot residents and firing his guns in the neighborhood near Westland Plaza. After formulating a plan to capture the suspect, the officers were able to capture and arrest him without incident. The suspect faces charges including a felon in possession of a handgun and a federal probation violation.
