Prayer
God of love and mercy, gracious provider of all things beneficial in the midst of our busy day, we take these moments to seek the solace of your Spirit, the calming reassurance of your promises, the renewing power of knowing that we live and work within your providential care and concern. Bless us now as we partake of food and share in fellowship. We do so with gratitude for these and all gifts which are evidence of your goodness and grace. Amen.
Proposed New Member
Dr. Sanjib Shrestha has been proposed for membership in the Rotary Club of North Jackson by President Neelam Goel and is sponsored for membership by Past President Don Roberts. Sanjib is a native of Nepal. He completed his undergraduate studies in Nepal and completed his medical training at The Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. Upon completion of an internship at Command Hospital in Calcutta, India, he returned to Nepal to meet his seven-year commitment to the Nepali Army. During this time of service to his country, he had the opportunity to serve as the Senior Medical Director for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon. He and his family came to the United States to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at New York University. He also completed a fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic in Geriatric Medicine. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. After coming to Mississippi to practice medicine and open a clinic in Pickens, he later became a staff physician at the Madison County Medical Center and Medical Director for the Madison County Nursing home. From 2008 to 2010, he took a job in Richmond, Virginia as staff physician at the Southern Virginia Medical Center, a move his family made at the time to be closer to his oldest daughter who began college at New York University. In 2010, he returned here to become Medical Director for the Emergency Medicine Department and the Chief of Staff for Merit Hospital in Canton. In 2023, he made a decision to retire from the practice of medicine, although he may resume some involvement in medicine in the future. He and his wife, Soni, have 2 adult daughters, and live in Madison. He will be loaned the classification, Physician – Internal Medicine, after his membership is approved by the Board. This is the 2nd publication of this proposed new member.
