END POLIO NOW Month

October is END POLIO NOW month for Rotary International. To encourage our members to support polio eradication, our Board of Directors has authorized a MATCHING gift promotion that will commence immediately and conclude on November 1, 2025.
WHAT CAN A MEMBER DO?
Members who make a contribution to The Rotary Foundation designated to PolioPlus or Polio Eradication of at least $ 25.00 and no more than $ 500.00 before October 31, 2025, will have their contribution matched on a 2:1 basis by the club.
WHY SHOULD A MEMBER CONSIDER MAKING A CONTRIBUTION NOW?
1. Because the fight to Eradicate Polio is an ongoing fight and requires increased support, if for no other reason than to keep up with the effects of world-wide inflation.
2. A contribution before November 1st will get the match. This means a member may accelerate their first or their next Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
Example: If a member’s cumulative Foundation contributions have them $300 dollars away from their next or first PHF (or 3 years with PHF Sustaining Member contributions), just a $ 100 contribution now + the Club’s match now means they reach their next PHF before the end of 2025!
3. With checks made payable to The Rotary Foundation, a 501C organization, the contribution may be deducted from federal and state tax returns.
IS THERE A LOT OF PAPERWORK FOR A MEMBER?
NO!  All a member needs to do make their check payable to THE ROTARY FOUNDATION and write POLIO on the memo line of the check. Members can bring the check to a Tuesday meeting and give it to the Sergeant- at -Arms at the front table or mail it to: Rotary Club of North Jackson. P O Box 12934, Jackson, MS 39236-2934.

Prayer
Eternal God, from various walks in life, from different family backgrounds and religious persuasions, and from varying vocations, we come together in unity of spirit and purpose. In this autumn season we acknowledge the magnificence of creation and the magnitude of your power in the natural world. We offer thanks for the food prepared for us and for table fellowship as we share these moments together. Help us to be appreciative of each other as we work together for others. Amen.

5th Tuesday Day of Service
Ten members of the Rotary Club of North Jackson volunteered at the Mississippi Food Network Tuesday, September 30th as part of 5th Tuesday's Day of Service for the club. The 10 volunteers packed around 240 food boxes that will be distributed throughout Mississippi to shut-ins. September was Hunger Action Month. Feeding America’s latest map, the Meal Gap report reveals a difficult truth: hunger is rising again — and rural areas in Mississippi are among the hardest hit. According to the report, 1 in 5 Mississippians struggle with food insecurity, meaning they don’t always know where their next meal will come from. Shown are club members that volunteered.
