February 27th Speaker
Our own club member Dr. Nelson Atehortua will be guest speaker. Dr. Atehortua, will talk about if there will be another pandemic and if so, how soon.
Proposed New Member Announcement
Gary Alan Haygood has been proposed for membership in the Rotary Club of North Jackson by Uriel Pineda and is sponsored for membership by Past President Tom Parry. Gary has lived and worked in the Jackson metro area for over 13 years. He owns his own business, Gary Haygood, Landscape Architect & Contractor. His office is located on Highway 51 in Ridgeland.
He attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Contracting. For over 30 years he has been involved in both residential and commercial landscape projects in the Tampa – St. Petersburg area, Hilton Head, as well as projects in our area.
He and his wife Helen have two adult children. They live in Madison and attend Broadmoor Baptist Church where Gary serves as a Deacon. He will be loaned the classification, Landscape Architect, after his membership is approved by the Board. This is the 1st publication of this proposed new member.
Women in Rotary Luncheon
The Women in Rotary Luncheon will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 11:30a.m. - 1:00p.m. at the Country Cub of Jackson. If you are interested in attending, please see Suzy Tubb.
February 13th Meeting
Rabbi Joseph Rosen of the Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson during its February 20, 2024, meeting. Rabbi Rosen talked about the History of Israel and their conflicts, with emphasis on the current war with the Hamas and its effect on the Beth Israel Congregation. Prayer
Oh God, within whose patient providence we exist, by whose enduring love we are embraced, with whose strength we are sustained, and by whose Spirit we are empowered to live and do good in the world, we give thanks for every blessing bestowed so generously upon us. We pray not only for ourselves today, but for all who are in need of your gracious attention. Comfort the sorrowing, give relief to the anxious, strength to the weary, and direction to the wandering. Bless our own efforts in the service of others and bless for our use the food and fellowship we enjoy. Use us as willing instruments of your will. Amen.
