Ten members of the Rotary Club of North Jackson volunteered at the Mississippi Food Network on Tuesday, September 30th, as part of 5th Tuesday's Day of Service for the club. The 10 volunteers packed around 240 food boxes that will be distributed to shut-ins throughout Mississippi. September was Hunger Action Month. Feeding America’s latest map, the Meal Gap report reveals a difficult truth: hunger is rising again — and rural areas in Mississippi are among the hardest hit. According to the report, 1 in 5 Mississippians struggle with food insecurity, meaning they don’t always know where their next meal will come from. Shown are the club members who volunteered.
