Dr. Kim Benton, Chief Academic Officer, Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at its July 19, 2016 meeting. Dr. Benton, who possesses undergraduate, specialist and doctoral degrees from MS. State University has been Chief Academic Officer for the MDE since 2013.  Prior to her current assignment, Dr. Benton served in several different capacities with the Meridian Public School District. She has been widely recognized by her peers in her field as well as by her Almas mater, MSU & Meridian Community College, by whom she was recognized as the Alumnus of the year.
