Dr. Billy Morehead Speaks to Rotary Club of North Jackson

Dr. Billy Morehead, Associate Professor of Accounting at Mississippi College spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at the club's August 26 meeting. The subject of his talk was the financial condition of the United States of America. He distributed copies of "A Citizen's Guide to the Fiscal Year 2013 Financial Report of the United States Government" which is prepared by the Treasury Department of the U.S. and used the data contained in it as the basis for his presentation. Dr. Morehead said that the US does not have a "clean" financial report primarily because the Defense Department does not have good records for its assets. Other departments have "clean" reports. Records are kept according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Dr. Morehead is shown in the following photo.
