Jackson Zoo Executive Director Beth Poff spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at its August 5 meeting. Ms. Poff discussed the status of the Zoo with respect to its accreditation and its effort to work with the City of Jackson to restore its West Capitol St. neighborhood. The zoo was recently reaccredited by the American Zoo Association. It is also working with the City of Jackson to get the derelict properties along W. Capitol St. cleaned up and improved. Ms. Poff was clear that the zoo is a total family experience and she invited each member of the club to visit. She was accompanied by Joshua Friedel, Director of Major Gifts and Annual Fund, who discussed ways that the members can assist the zoo financially. We thank Ms. Poff and Mr. Fridler for their time and their comments. Both are shown below in the accompanying images.
