At the November 11, Veterans' Day meeting of the Rotary Club of North Jackson, Club member, Past President and Past District Governor, Col. (Ret.) Jim Stanley read the World War I poem "In Flanders Field" written May 8,1915 by Lt. C. John McCrae honor of our Veterans. Lt. C.McCrae was a Canadian physician and poet. He wrote the poem after presiding at the funeral of a fallen comrade. The club recognized its veterans at the meeting. We are fortunate that so many people have made sacrifices to help us preserve our freedom. Col Stanley is shown below reading the poem.Image
