Ross Bjork, Ole Miss Athletic Director, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at its August 9, 2016 meeting. Mr. Bjork discussed the role of the Athletic Department, its place in the university and its objectives for the Student Athletes participating in it sports. Per Mr. Bjork, Ole Miss athletes achieved an average grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 in the 2015-2016 academic year. The Department has annual budget of about $130 million, which it derives from donations. TV revenues, game admission, and revenues from the Southeastern Conference's participation in post season sports. In the 2015-2016 season, it opened a new facility, the Pavilion, which is the home to the Ole Miss Basketball teams.
