Certified Sommelier and District Manager for Republic
National Distributing company Scott Davis spoke to
the Rotary Club of North Jackson at its February 2,
2016 meeting. The general topic of his presentation
was food and wine pairings. He brought two US wines,
a Pinot Noir and a Dry Riesling, to demonstrate his sub-
ject. He pointed out that a dry, buttery chardonnay
wine is an excellent wine for dairy and pasta dishes.
He also demonstrated that grapes and Granny Smith
apples are incompatible with the Riesling that he
brought. The accompanying photo shows Mr. Davis
(left) with club members Jeff Adcock (center) and
Edley Jones (right) serving as his guinea pigs. We
thank Mr. Davis for his very interesting presenta-
tion and Jeff and Edley for their willingness to
serve the club.
